San Diego!

IMG_1733 IMG_1746

Yesterday we went to the San Diego Sea World. Now Tom and I have been to ALL the Sea World parks YAY. I remember being a little girl and thinking Sea World was THE park for me. I told myself I would go all the time when I grew up, and here we are. I’m all grown up and I get to go whenever I want, especially now that we live in San Antonio! If Sea World San Diego merged with Sea World San Antonio it would be AWESOME! I think both of these parks are great. We had a lot of fun seeing all the shows. The weather could have been better though. So far this San Diego trip has been good. The hotel we are in is amazing! Tom’s conference is in the more expensive Hyatt across the street, and it was all booked up which made us choose this Embassy Suites. It’s perfect for a family because it offers free wifi and breakfast. The “higher end” hotels across the street were much more expensive for a basic small room, AND NO free breakfast or WIFI. Plus the hotel we are in has suite rooms which gives us all the space we need to spend some down time. Sometimes I dread travel because it gets so cramped and inconvenient, especially with a toddler. My body doesn’t tolerate eating out a lot because it tends to be really heavy, unhealthy foods. Even a salad at a basic restaurant can be as unhealthy as a greasy cheeseburger. By the end of the trip I usually live off of granola bars because my stomach hurts. Luckily this hotel has a refrigerator and microwave in the room so we were able to buy some healthy foods at Ralphs.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit DUPE!

I purchased the Anastasia Contour Kit  a few months ago and I liked it but was very unhappy with the price. $40 seems a bit high in my opinion. I was browsing Groupon the other day and I saw this

http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-aesthetica-cosmetics-contouring-kits

The Aesthetica Cosmetics Contour Kit was being sold for $19.99 and my goodness it looks JUST like the Anastasia Contour Kit at HALF THE PRICE! Now this is something I can work with. I was so excited for a possible dupe and I ordered it. It just arrived today and guess what, it is a perfect DUPE. I would even guess that it came from the same manufacturer. These 2 palettes are identical in texture and color. Needless to say I am THRILLED to have found this DUPE. When the Groupon is sold out make sure you guys search on Amazon, I saw it on there too. WOHOOOOO I am so happy!

Forever 21 Athletic Clothing

IMG_1657 IMG_1658 IMG_1659

I’ve been buying my workout clothes from Forever 21 for a few years now. I’ve tried SO many other brands from higher end Lulu Lemon to Walmart and Target. You bang for your buck when it comes to Forever 21 athletic clothing. The exercise stuff I’ve purchased there has lasted for years. Actually the first thing I bought was a pair of exercise capri pants on clearance. They were like $8 because the hem was coming undone…..and guess what I still have them! Today I had to go back and return a pair of running pants that started to come apart after 1 wear (they were my first pair made of cotton – I don’t recommend). It was past the 21 day window and the pants didn’t have tags anymore. I took in the pants and the receipt to show the manager. Lucky for me they were very nice about it and they gave me store credit. I ended up buying this set. The pants were $21.90 and the top was $15.90. This top is SO cute, and I can actually exercise in it because the sports bra is sewn in. Another win for Forever 21 athletic wear!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick

LOVELY
I like this pink. It’s a very easy color to wear. I have yet to wear it a full day though.

These lipsticks are pretty unique. I bought the colors Pure Hollywood and Lovely. I am a nude lipstick lover, it’s just what I’m comfortable with. I see all these beauty gurus wearing all these different fun colors and I’m envious. I need to branch out a little more and use colors that make me uncomfortable.

HOW THEY APPLY
Imagine what water would feel like to apply with this applicator……that is how I would describe this. Of course it is a bit thicker than water, but the feeling on the lips is very moist and wet for the first few seconds. They are very easy to apply and so smooth. After about 15 seconds the color starts to seep into the lips and the stain takes hold. The color does take a few seconds to set up and really reveal what it will look like. The color also changes as time goes on.

THE FINISH
Matte…….SO matte. I like the matte look right now. I do struggle to keep my lips from peeling so I have to be careful with what lip products I use. These lipsticks don’t do dry lips any favors…..BUT they didn’t make my lips any drier. After wearing them for a few hours my lips were not any worse than when I first applied. Your lips do feel “tacky” when you rub them together, but I don’t mind that. This exaggerates lip lines like crazy though. As time goes on, the lip lines look deeper and deeper. After about 2-3 hours of wear the lines start to make me uncomfortable.

PURE HOLLYWOOD
I was disappointed that this color came out to a more peach/brown nude on my lips 😦 Everyone has natural color to their lips that will effect how lipsticks show up. I was hoping this nude would be more pink like I’ve seen on a lot of other reviewers….. It’s still a nice nude for me, just not the nude I was wanting.

After 2 hours you can see in the last picture that Pure Hollywood has become more brown and less orange than when I first applied it. Every hour this lip color seems to change a bit. I’m really interested to try the darker colors now.

Easy Delicious Baked Salmon

IMG_1632 IMG_1637

This Magic Salmon Seasoning is AMAZING! I love it. I’ve only made salmon since Tom and I have been together once or twice. I wanted something new to cook in our new life in Texas, so one day at HEB I saw the seasoning and I decided to give it a try. I AM SO GLAD I DID!

This meal literally takes me 30 minutes to complete.
I put 1lb of fresh Alaskan Salmon on a piece of foil. Then I sprinkle the seasoning on it pretty generously. After the seasoning I place cubes of butter on the top. Fold the foil up around the salmon and seal it.

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees then place the salmon in there to cook for 10 minutes. Open the foil up and cook the salmon for another 5-10 minutes or until the top starts turning golden.

Now serve with the colorful sides and ENJOY! This is SO easy and I am so impressed that this can be done so quickly.

Sea World San Antonio

IMG_1608 IMG_1628 IMG_2422 IMG_2429

Yesterday we went to the San Antonio Sea World for the first time. It was GREAT! I love Sea World so much. The weekend Tom and I got engaged we were in Orlando Florida and we spent most of that trip at Sea World. So now it was nice to come to OUR Sea World with Audrey. She loved it! I was SO impressed with everything they had created for the young children. There were HUGE play areas for kids and rides for all ages. We went to 5 shows too. Audrey was so funny watching the show because she would get so excited. At one point during the Beluga Whale show the trainer silenced the crowd to let the whale make noises and she asked “are you ready? – well the only person in the whole audience to yell “I’M READY!” was Audrey. You can hear her pretty clearly in the vlog lol. This Sea World was definitely better than the Orlando location. There was a lot more to see and the Orca show was great. I can’t wait to see what the water park is like when it gets warmer.

This picture is of Shamu bowls that Tom and I got the weekend we were engaged. They actually sell ice cream in them, but we kept the bowls and stuck the on our wall. While we were at Sea World yesterday we got an ice cream sundae with the same bowl for Audrey! Now we can stick our baby shamu under the mommy and daddy 🙂 Watch the vlog of our day
