This year we went to town on this sale. I have very few things that I actually splurge on in life……handbags and makeup. Other than that I run a tight budget. A lot of people see what I have and they assume that we are big spenders but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I save to buy and if I can’t save then I don’t buy. Last year I didn’t shop the Anniversary sale so I had money I saved up in addition to the money I saved for this sale. The older I get the more I believe that its better to spend money to buy quality items. I’d rather have a small closet with quality pieces than cheap clothes stuffed everywhere. Younger people tend to buy fashions that are “in” or “trendy” so their wardrobes rotate annually. I still buy fashionably in season items, but I look for comfort and quality a lot more than I used to. Part of growing up is discovering the things that YOU really like and I like to be comfortable. After you have children it also changed what you look for in your clothing. I never had anything against low rise jeans until now! I worked hard to have a flat stomach after carrying a baby, but I squirm at the idea of having to wear low cut pants. When I’m chasing around a toddler the last thing I want to worry about is pulling my pants up! Over-all it was a successful sale experience. I’m still giddy over the Louise et Cie boots I found!
I love her! She is just what I was looking for, but I didn’t know it yet. I named her in memory of my childhood tricycle that my dad painted for me. It was a very similar blue color. Watch my video to learn more about buying on ebay and why I decided to get another WOC.
Do your research on zippers to know which brand uses what zipper!
I’ve been buying my workout clothes from Forever 21 for a few years now. I’ve tried SO many other brands from higher end Lulu Lemon to Walmart and Target. You bang for your buck when it comes to Forever 21 athletic clothing. The exercise stuff I’ve purchased there has lasted for years. Actually the first thing I bought was a pair of exercise capri pants on clearance. They were like $8 because the hem was coming undone…..and guess what I still have them! Today I had to go back and return a pair of running pants that started to come apart after 1 wear (they were my first pair made of cotton – I don’t recommend). It was past the 21 day window and the pants didn’t have tags anymore. I took in the pants and the receipt to show the manager. Lucky for me they were very nice about it and they gave me store credit. I ended up buying this set. The pants were $21.90 and the top was $15.90. This top is SO cute, and I can actually exercise in it because the sports bra is sewn in. Another win for Forever 21 athletic wear!
Yesterday we went to the San Antonio Sea World for the first time. It was GREAT! I love Sea World so much. The weekend Tom and I got engaged we were in Orlando Florida and we spent most of that trip at Sea World. So now it was nice to come to OUR Sea World with Audrey. She loved it! I was SO impressed with everything they had created for the young children. There were HUGE play areas for kids and rides for all ages. We went to 5 shows too. Audrey was so funny watching the show because she would get so excited. At one point during the Beluga Whale show the trainer silenced the crowd to let the whale make noises and she asked “are you ready? – well the only person in the whole audience to yell “I’M READY!” was Audrey. You can hear her pretty clearly in the vlog lol. This Sea World was definitely better than the Orlando location. There was a lot more to see and the Orca show was great. I can’t wait to see what the water park is like when it gets warmer.
This picture is of Shamu bowls that Tom and I got the weekend we were engaged. They actually sell ice cream in them, but we kept the bowls and stuck the on our wall. While we were at Sea World yesterday we got an ice cream sundae with the same bowl for Audrey! Now we can stick our baby shamu under the mommy and daddy 🙂 Watch the vlog of our day
I received several requests to show my handbag collection and I FINALLY filmed one. I LOVE handbags. I am so cheap when it comes to everything else in my life, but I really value designer handbags. Some women like jewelry, others like shoes and clothes……..I like purses! I hope you like this video I will film updates in the future when I mix my collection up.
YES ITS TRUE! I BOUGHT A CHANEL GST! I don’t go to the spa or buy tons of shoes……… ok enough justification lol. I bought another handbag to join my family. This is my “early Christmas gift”. I have been having a hard time finding the right bag to carry lately. My Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM has been getting a lot of use, but I wanted something a little nicer with lots of room too. I ended up going through tons of pictures on pinterest and I just loved the look of the Chanel GST. I had tried it on in Chanel before and I thought I didn’t like the boxy-ness of it, but I just loved how it looked on other people. I am a Chanel lover and it just felt like it would fit right in. I was really liking the beige, but I decided to buy the same color I always do……black. Well actually I have one navy Chanel bag, but you can hardly tell its blue because it’s so dark. Plus I plan to get A LOT of use out of this tote, so it needs to be a color that I can abuse. This bag is going for $2900 + tax. I think once it’s worn it this bag will be my “go to” handbag.
I did a video for you guys to explain my routine to care for my hair. Having long hair is a chore but keeping it looking nice is a whole other story. I love my long hair and I have had every length you can imagine. Watch this video to see what I am doing at the moment to keep my hair on point.
I recently bought this pair on Ivanka Trump over the knee boots at Nordstrom and I wanted to find a way to wear them without looking like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. They are cloth boots with shiny gold hardware. I think they are fairly comfortable but definitely need some padding, but I can add those myself. The skirt was $4.80 at Forever 21 and the sweater is something I took from my mom :). I think if you are going to wear over the knee/thigh high anything it’s a good idea to cover everything above the thigh. This look would come out pretty trashy if I decided to wear a tank top instead of a sweater. I think these types of boots also look great with sweater dresses and over skinny jeans.
If you don’t own any over the knee socks or boots here is another cute option for fall lovers. I just paired the same outfit with some calf high white socks and some Tory Burch nude flats. Both looks are super cute and very wearable for early fall. Later in the season it may be too cold for the sock look though. I always have great ideas on what I’m going to wear during the winter months, but when it really gets cold I have a hard time wearing anything but sweat pants. Since we are moving to Texas I’m hoping I will keep up the motivation to dress cute all winter. It’s a lot easier to wear flats and heels when you don’t have to worry about slipping on ice!
