Fall Fashion Looks

Presentation1

I recently bought this pair on Ivanka Trump over the knee boots at Nordstrom and I wanted to find a way to wear them without looking like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. They are cloth boots with shiny gold hardware. I think they are fairly comfortable but definitely need some padding, but I can add those myself. The skirt was $4.80 at Forever 21 and the sweater is something I took from my mom :). I think if you are going to wear over the knee/thigh high anything it’s a good idea to cover everything above the thigh. This look would come out pretty trashy if I decided to wear a tank top instead of a sweater. I think these types of boots also look great with sweater dresses and over skinny jeans.

If you don’t own any over the knee socks or boots here is another cute option for fall lovers. I just paired the same outfit with some calf high white socks and some Tory Burch nude flats. Both looks are super cute and very wearable for early fall. Later in the season it may be too cold for the sock look though. I always have great ideas on what I’m going to wear during the winter months, but when it really gets cold I have a hard time wearing anything but sweat pants. Since we are moving to Texas I’m hoping I will keep up the motivation to dress cute all winter. It’s a lot easier to wear flats and heels when you don’t have to worry about slipping on ice!

Cle De Peau Concealer Review

IMG_1652 IMG_1654 IMG_1655 IMG_1656 IMG_1657

Is this a nice concealer?

– Yes I think this is a really nice concealer. I liked the packaging. It felt sturdy and luxurious. The coverage was great. I did experience the normal amount of creasing in certain areas on my face. It is a more dry concealer so it takes a little more heat from the fingers to blend. The color choices are very limited which was disappointing.

Is it worth the cost?

– No. Not in my opinion. This concealer was not a miracle concealer unfortunately. It was good, but I actually prefer my Japonesque conealer. They are both dry but the Japonesque has better staying power and coverage. This product is outrageously expensive and I have a hard time paying that much for something that doesn’t work miracles.

Would I purchase it again?

– No

My Mink Lashes!

So far I love them! They are so incredibly soft I can barely feel them. All the synthetic lashes felt like plastic. They were crunchy and stiff. The synthetic lashes were also a lot heavier. I feel great wearing these. Each lash has 4-5 mink hairs attached to them to get this effect. Every morning I have to brush through them but they are great. These lashes are a week old and still going great. I truly love them and I can see myself becoming an addict. After having several brands of synthetic lashes applied I can really tell a difference.

Here is a picture of one of my lashes. You can see that there are several mink lashes attached to my ONE lash.

Current Skincare Products

I started my beauty channel to show my experience with Obagi Nu-Derm products. I was so pleased with my results and I always recommend Obagi products. To see my Obagi experience go to my channel youtube.com/mrssarahmarie55.

Since then I have used several different products. I love the Obagi line but I couldn’t use it while I was pregnant and breastfeeding. So for those 2 years I experimented with other products. I really don’t need an aggressive skincare routine anymore because I am happy the results from Obagi. Now I just try to maintain and preserve my skin. I was recommended Vivier Skin by my skincare specialist and I decided to try it. I bought my kit from http://www.lovelyskin.com/o/vivierskin-dry-sensitive-skin-system. The kit I bought was pretty good, but I really didn’t notice any difference. I started swapping some products and I’ve found some new favorites. This product by PCA Skin is AMAZING http://www.lovelyskin.com/o/pca-skin-c-quench-antioxidant-serum. I noticed my skin was soooooooooo soft after using it. I will definitely be re-purchasing it. Next I started using a different eye cream from SPA COM. I use it at night because it’s greasy, but WOW it works great. And of course I use my Retin-A every other evening.

Comfort

Today I went for comfort! I just wore a loose fitting brown shirt over some jeggings. The black boots are a Forever 21 find and so are the jeggings. My mom gave me this top when I was pregnant but I still love to wear it. I dress for comfort most days, but that doesn’t mean I am reduced to sweat pants and flip flops. The boots aren’t that comfortable yet…….hopefully after a few days of being worn they will be. If things are uncomfortable they end up sitting in my closet until I donate them. I rarely have the patience to wear things until they are “worn in” unless I have to. But I am more budget conscious than comfort conscious. Since these boots were only $40 compared to the other pair I was looking at for $198, I think I can handle a few days of toe torture!

My Favorite Lipstick Dupe!

IMG_1436 IMG_1437

I love my Too Faced lipsticks actually I love Too Faced makeup in general. But their lipsticks are phenomenal. They are so shiny and smooth with a good amount of color. They are $20+ a piece which is a big down side if you are on a budget……and lets face it, most of us are OR should be! I have been very interested in the the FLOWER cosmetic line that is starting to show up in Wal-Mart. Today I picked up a few lipsticks and one of them is a perfect dupe for my Too Faced, Naked Dolly. In the picture I have Naked Dolly on the top lip and Morning Glory by FLOWER on the bottom. As you can see they are very very similar. When I swatch them on my hand the Morning Glory looks a lot more pink, whereas the Naked Dolly looks like a pinky nude. But on the lips they are very similar. I paid $22 at Ulta for my Naked Dolly and it’s just about empty. At Wal-Mart I paid $6.95 for the Morning Glory by FLOWER. The color is a hit, but now I need to see how the FLOWER lipsticks wear. I hate lipsticks that dry out my lips and most of them seem to do that. The FLOWER case is a lot bulkier than the little metal case that Too Faced lipsticks have, so Too Face wins that one. But FLOWER seems to be busting out of the gates at full speed. So far I’ve been impressed with their color options and quality. This may be my ‘go to’ drugstore lipstick brand……eventually.
