This year we went to town on this sale. I have very few things that I actually splurge on in life……handbags and makeup. Other than that I run a tight budget. A lot of people see what I have and they assume that we are big spenders but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I save to buy and if I can’t save then I don’t buy. Last year I didn’t shop the Anniversary sale so I had money I saved up in addition to the money I saved for this sale. The older I get the more I believe that its better to spend money to buy quality items. I’d rather have a small closet with quality pieces than cheap clothes stuffed everywhere. Younger people tend to buy fashions that are “in” or “trendy” so their wardrobes rotate annually. I still buy fashionably in season items, but I look for comfort and quality a lot more than I used to. Part of growing up is discovering the things that YOU really like and I like to be comfortable. After you have children it also changed what you look for in your clothing. I never had anything against low rise jeans until now! I worked hard to have a flat stomach after carrying a baby, but I squirm at the idea of having to wear low cut pants. When I’m chasing around a toddler the last thing I want to worry about is pulling my pants up! Over-all it was a successful sale experience. I’m still giddy over the Louise et Cie boots I found!
Smokey eye looks are very popular, but I don’t think it’s a really specific look? There are so many types of “smokey eye” looks. There really isn’t a rule on how to do them correctly. I think to qualify as a smokey eye you just have to fade your colors out and blend really well. For this look I used my Too Faced Chocolate Bar…..I LOVE that thing. It’s my favorite palette.
